History[]
The Arizona Scorpions were created in the 2011-2012 season as an expansion franchise in the ABA. The Scorpions were at first owned by ex-NBA All-Star Cedric Ceballos and Ron Tilley, but ownership has since moved to Tris Tilley.
In their first year, the Scorpions played their home games at Phoenix College, but moved to Glendale Community College for the upcoming 2013-2014 ABA season.
Season-by-Season Record[]
2011-2012[]
In their first year as an ABA team, the Scorpions, unlike most other teams in the ABA, played all of their scheduled games, going 19-3 in route to capturing the Southern California Division title. They were defeated in the playoffs soon afterwards, however.
2012-2013[]
In their second year as an ABA team, the Scorpions again played all of their games, going 19-4 en route to capturing their second Southern California Division title. In the quarterfinals of the ABA playoffs, however, the #2 ranked Scorpions were defeated by the #3 ranked Colorado Kings.
