History[]

The Indiana Legends were created in the 2000-2001 season as one of the ABA's charter franchises. The Legends were owned and operated by league CEO Joe Newman and lasted for two seasons.

The Legends folded when the ABA postponed operations during the 2002-2003 season due to problems with player salaries (which resulted in players suing the franchise and receiving an 800,000 dollar settlement) and due to not being able to find a viable home court.
