History[]
The Los Angeles Stars were created as on of the ABA's charter franchises in the 2000-2001 season. The Stars played for that season only, folding afterwards.
The Stars were definitely the ABA's attempt to gain popularity, as the Stars were the league's first attempt at reviving an old ABA franchise (the Stars had played in the original ABA until 1970, when the franchise moved to Utah).
The Stars even used their "territorial picks" in the first ABA draft (see 2000-2001 ABA Season) to draft college players from UCLA and played at the Forum (short for Great Western Forum), former home of the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers.
The team, however, was short-lived and folded after it's first season.
Season-by-Season Record[]
