History[]
The Seattle Mountaineers were created in 2005 as a Christian nonprofit organization. The franchise played in the International Basketball League from 2005-2009, and while there played their home games at the Bellevue Community College.
The Mountaineers moved to the National Athletic Basketball League but left because, according to head coach Don Sims,
"The NABL was not a good fit for our organization, and we need to go in another direction,"
The Mountaineers then moved to the ABA, where they have stayed since.
